Hovey Players

Interested in directing for Hovey? Have a play you’ve always wanted to direct? We produce five major productions per season featuring comedies, dramas, and musicals. Every year Hovey looks for directors to help us put together another quality season of theatrical entertainment… maybe you’d like to be one of them for next season?

To submit a play suggestion for next season, download our submission form (Word, PDF), fill it out, giving us information about yourself and the play that you’d like to direct, and and either email the form and an electronic copy of the script to theater@hoveyplayers.com, or post mail it and two copies of the play to:

All submissions are due by February 15, 2010

Our Board of Directors will go through all the submissions we receive. After the first round of reviews, we’ll invite selected directors to meet with us to talk about their vision for the production.

The final season will be announced in April 2010.

Before you submit your form, we suggest that you take a look at what we’ve been doing recently, both to give you an idea of what kind of works we do here, and also to help you avoid submitting something that we’ve done within the past few years. Be aware that we have a small stage with no fly space and almost no wing space and perform for a small 52-seat house.
