Our Summer Shorts festival features new works by local authors. Plays are unpublished shorts between 1 and 20 pages long. Each summer we feature up to 20 new authors, 20 plays, 40-60 actors, and many new directors, all in two weekends. Until now, the Shorts was a unique event in local community theater. You will notice other companies duplicating our idea. Good, supporting new works is important. But, the creative energy at Hovey every summer is still unique. Our festival is presented with a passion and style that can only be described as Hovey. We can say with confidence that Hovey has the best shorts.
